HIRER’S CHECKLIST AND HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION

AT THE START OF OR DURING YOUR EVENT/MEETING

 

 

You are responsible for the Health and Safety of your group and for the appropriate use of the facilities as per the Terms and Conditions of Hire.

 

 

Please ensure that:

 

•Folding tables are stored in the shed and should not be taken upstairs.  They are to be moved one at a time by TWO people, using great care.  If you have ANY doubts at all about how to carefully move tables, please ask the bookings secretary.

 

•You are aware of the location and proper use of the fire extinguishers, first aid kits and fire blanket (if using cooking oil or fat).
 

•Everyone can be evacuated safely from the building - please note that the only ramp for the disabled is via the double entrance doors in Committee Room.

 

•Doors and fire exits are not obstructed with chairs, tables etc. during your event/ meeting.

 

•Interior fire door is held open only by use of the magnetic release catch that is connected to the fire alarm system, and that the door is closed only by depressing the black release button as per the sign at the end of your event/meeting.

 

•Wedges or other physical items such as chairs or fire extinguishers that could prevent the doors from being released if the fire alarm is triggered, are never used to hold open the interior fire doors.

 

•You inform the Bookings Secretary (bookings@worthmatraversvillagehall.org) in the event of any accident.

 

•You record all accidents involving injury to a member of your group or to a member of the public using the hall during your hire and that you report ANY incident to the Bookings Secretary (bookings@worthmatraversvillagehall.org) as soon as possible.

 

Please be aware that:

 

•The entire premises including the garden are NO SMOKING.

 

•The smoke detectors and interior fire door magnetic catch are connected to the fire alarm system.

 

•Mobile phones do NOT work in the village. There are phones in the hall for emergencies.
